What is cranio-sacral therapy (CST)?

Why cranio-sacral therapy instead of traditional medicine? What are the benefits?

What conditions can CST help?

Craniosacral therapy is a form of non-invasive treatment which engages with the natural healing forces of the body. These forces can be depleted or disrupted because of daily stresses, injuries, disease and trauma. CST uses a light touch to examine membranes and movement of fluids in and around the central nervous system. The therapist also engages with the bio-energetic field of the body, allowing natural rhythmic motions to be restored, thus providing relief from physical pain, emotional stress, and helping increase vitality and sense of well-being. CST treats the whole person rather than treating a particular symptom or condition, and encourages the body to release the source of pain or disturbance.

Craniosacral therapy can work well along side traditional medicine. As the treatment does not involve adding anything foreign in body, but rather works with the natural expression of healing forces within, there are very few contra-indications. Cranial work has the potential to work on multiple levels, including the musculoskeletal level where you feel aches and pains, the emotional level where you feel good or bad, and the spiritual level where you are dancing between your body and soul. It’s the awareness you bring that determines the benefits of CST for you.

Anusha was able to support me (both mind and body) towards releasing shocks in me. This was crucial at the time, as I was a key worker during COVID lock down and the stresses were getting to me. Her passion gives her the drive to dedicate to each patient fully, I got back to work re-centered and with revived joy. I have no reservations in my recommendations of her services.

Anusha was intuitive and picked up accurately on different blocks and restrictions in my body. I felt like I was transported to another dimension and I felt lighter at the end of the session.

“The body is a self-healing organism, so it’s really about clearing things out of the way so the body can heal itself.”
